An application uses DynamoDB TTL for temporary processing records. A record expiration timestamp has passed, but the item still appears in a query. How should the application handle this behavior?
Published
- Assume the table is corrupted because TTL must delete the item at the exact expiration second.
- Use a strongly consistent read and expect it to force the TTL background deletion to happen.
- Reset every expired item to a future expiration time so the query no longer needs to inspect TTL.
- Treat TTL deletion as asynchronous and exclude logically expired items when the application requires immediate expiration semantics.
