An application uses Aurora PostgreSQL in one Region. It needs a second Region for local reads and disaster recovery. Small replication lag and potential loss of recent transactions during an unplanned regional outage are acceptable. The team wants a managed cross-Region design. Which solution best fits?
Published
- Add a reader to the primary regional Aurora cluster and assume it remains available after the entire primary Region fails.
- Add RDS Proxy in the second Region without creating any replicated secondary database.
- Create an Aurora Global Database with a secondary cluster in the recovery Region and test managed failover and application write-endpoint redirection.
- Copy a database snapshot once per month and use it as the continuously updated local read endpoint.
